Hi Tawan, Looks great! Some nice variety through out the reel. I can tell that you like rich middles some strong selective saturation. On those first few shots for Ugly Flower, was that a promist filter in camera or were you adding additional blur? Also, how did you pick which shots to do the before and after on? I feel like its tricky when using c-log alexa footage (or even RED) because it can be a bit misleading. Keep up the good work.
Belal, I am sorry to get back to you so late...I have been on the clock, almost nonstop. Thanks much for the compliment. I truly appreciate it. Ugly Flower was shot with a promist but there were sections where I pumped it up more for a 50's throwback...and also there were shots that didn't have the promist effect that I had to add in Davinci. I sometimes use the camera meta data settings instead of Raw just to show what was really shot. However, if the metadata is really bad I will use LOG so that the Cinematographer doesn't look bad as was the case with Ugly Flower...there were some really dark and heavily blue overcast shots. I try to choose action shots or drama or just some nice camera moves...it tends to add more value to the grade.
I'm a little late to this one... Looks great! I think your order is good, and your grades look nice. There were only two things I wasn't sure about. One was the shot where you sharpened the video... It kinda make it look like your were fixing the DPs mistake, which you just have to be careful of. The second, there is a place near the end where you are wiping between between before and after overtop of a cut. The editor in me twitched Good work!
