Has anybody run resolve on a new iMac?
Is it possible to run it with an ultrastudio 3d and maybe a cuda GPU in a thunderbolt enclosure?
Im thinking about putting together a machine for the house but i dont have a lot to spend.

I dont need realtime playback of grades, but i will need realtime playback of rendered grades (coming from pablo - im already used to rendering everything before i can play it ;) )

Can you run it on an iMac? Yes.
You can use an ultra studio 3d. However CUDA processing in tbolt enclosure doesn't work out of the box yet. Unless that changed in 10.8.0.

You'll get some amount of rt. others may have more info on what sort of perf you can expect.

For about same $ you can get retina MBP. Also handles resolve and ultra studio.

I work with The New mbp with resolve and you have to trust me The performance its amazing taking The fact that is a laptop. HD realtime even with 4 o 5 nodes, and i dont try The tbolt yet.
Resolve 9 will run better than 8 becouse support The Nvidia gt 650 and work much faster than The 8 version.
You can work with an iMac i think, but The New mbp its really a good option
