Highlights clipped when exporting from nuke

Hi,

When the vfx artits give me back the clip from Nuke, it has all the white info clipped.
I send her the clip in log, it's a 8bit crappy file. The name of the file is C014, which I assume is sony? But I really don't know the color space of this file.
We tried exporting in Prores or DnxHR with either full range or video range, both versions have the white info clipped.

She is exporting the file in 709, I think this might be the problem...how can she export it with the color untouched, no colour space or gamma transformations! Is this the problem? Might there be another issue?!

C014 is a generic file name which does not indicate what original camera model was used .

The Sony application called Catalyst Browse (available for free download) can be used to reveal the camera metadata which may show what camera model etc was used. Although the app is from Sony it can read metadata from other camera brands if the metadata exists in the file.

Once you know the camera model originally used for the file that will help narrow down selecting the camera OETF encoding which should be used for color grading and applying the proper LUT for VFX viewing.

The VFX department should not be sending you back files with have a 709 ODT burned in as you should receive the log encoded file.
