Sonoma to Sequoia

Hey there,

Wondering if there's any reason to not upgrade to sequoia. Has anyone had any issues with it relating to Resolve? Finder issues? Etc..

Thanks!

Really depends on your software/tools/storage. We have a couple of Mac Minis with M4 running under OS 15.3.1 at the moment but only have Resolve + drivers installed.

Sonoma has been really good, so I wouldn't leave it readily if you don't have to. It seems like the main focus of improvements in Sequoia is Apple AI and ChatGPT integration. If there is an app requiring you move to Sequoia I would just test the waters on a single machine before you make the leap on all of your other boxes.

One issue with Sonoma is SSD-PCIe cards on Intel MacPros. This is fixed in Sequoia as I understand things. I believe OWC / Sonnet both recommend moving to macOS 15.x for this reason. But the bug seems to be hit or miss for different people in macOS 13 or 14.

I am lowkey having issues with da vinci since updating it... I had to update it to install a driver i needed on location as a DIT, and now every time i open it i have to put in my code again. basically it doesn't keep me logged in
