Vignette position bug

Hi all, I have seen this bug/error (or my mistake not sure what it is) few years ago, even before Resolve version 10. If you look at attached screen grab, vignette outline is on the place where mask effect should be but the effect of the vignette is not there, it is offset in position by some value.

In this case the Resolve project is an older not finished project from few months back, it was done on Resolve 14 public beta. It was stored and waited for client to come back with some reshooting, now the vignettes are off. Before all was OK.

This vignettes are very finely tracked and hand animated so it is not a small thing to just move them all in all shots, that is why I am asking for an anwser what could happen here.

Project resolution and all similar settings do not change anything.

Check to see if this is a cache problem. Either delete the cache or create a new version, and see what happens.

If it doesn't, then I see no solution but to make one overall position shift for the first frame, which I bet will hold for the entire clip. But you'll have to do it for every tracked clip.

I have seen this happen a couple of years ago after project resolution was changed (something weird like from HD to 2K), and the tracking did not translate. But this was a few years ago.

I’ve experienced the same bug. Went back to the edit page. Changed the scaling option in the properties of the clip, then back to the previous option. The back to the color page and the offset was gone. It is definitely a bug.

Have tried also changing edit/input/output/node sizing, same bug. no change. But even more wierd, there are few shots where there is no bug and there are same vignettes... So wierd... I have also tried reinstalling exactly the same version of Resolve I have used at that time, same shit.

How many days did I loose? Sop many.
At least I know that BM people take our feedback into account. And they don’t cost me 50€ per month as Adobe do while releasing cc2018 full of major issues.

Hello all,
I've just installed Resolve today's update (14.2.1) and the bug is still there.
My project resolution is 2K DCI scope. My sources are mixed resolutions ( 4K, 5k, 3.2 K ... ) . I start doing a power window and I notice an offset as soon as I apply a correction. Just as Teo describes.
I switch to the edit page to check if the offest occurs here as well. My clip is set to "Fill" in the retime and scaling options. I try to chose another setting like "Project Settings" and reset back to "Fill". Then the boundaries of my power window now fit the color correction but they have been altered to match the offset I was observing. It is not a big deal unless you spent a few minutes tracking a power window with several keyframes because then you have to rework all the keyframes.

Same all Marc. This thing is weird. I've received a private message from blackmagic asking to send a project with the bug. It is done. I'll keep you informed if they come back to me.

I've never experienced this issue but I tried using the 3D keyer the other day and the lines were drawn no where near where I was trying to draw them, I wonder if you get that too, could these be related? I didn't get a chance to figure out if I could stop it doing that by changing any of the scaling settings.

Do you have your monitor's resolution set to something other than it's native value? I remember when I was working on an imac that was a problem with the dustbust tool.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this? Had to dig up and old feature and re-export out a significant amount of clips, every mask was way off and a hell of a lot of them were rotoed by hand.

I suspect that this is related to the issue of changing clip size (like an anamorphic clip) and then trying to track a window on this image. The problem is, with the node order of operations, it's going to try to look at the original image (pre-resizing), which will no longer be accurate. How this applies in this case, I'm not sure. When I work on anamorphic films I sometimes have to do the tracking on a squeezed image, get the windows and masks set, and then flip the switch to resize them back to letterbox... and the windows automatically change correctly.

It's just standard 1:1 Red Dragon footage. It is being scaled down to fit a 4K scope timeline. I make constant backups and went back through them, some from 12.5 some from 14, they are all experiencing the bug. Changing scaling settings, scaling using zoom etc makes no difference. It's super strange.
